Minor Variation Application
Service Description
A Minor Variation of a Premises Licence allows you to make small changes to your premises licence or club premises certificate without going through the full variation process. This is a quicker, easier, and cheaper option, but it has some limitations. What You Can Change: Structure/Layout: Small changes to the structure or layout of the premises. Licensing Hours: Minor adjustments to licensing hours, but not for the sale of alcohol between 11 pm and 7 am. Licensable Activities: Add certain activities like performances of plays or film exhibitions. Conditions: Remove or amend out-of-date, irrelevant, or unenforceable conditions, or add volunteered conditions. What You Cannot Change: Alcohol Sales: You cannot use a minor variation to add the sale of alcohol or extend alcohol sale hours between 11 pm and 7 am. Substantial Changes: You cannot make substantial changes to the premises or transfer the licence to another premises. Application Process: Application Form: Complete the minor variation application form, providing detailed descriptions of the proposed changes. Fee: Pay the application fee. Submission: Submit the form to your local licensing authority. Considerations Impact on Licensing Objectives: The changes must not adversely impact the four licensing objectives: prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, prevention of public nuisance, and protection of children from harm.
