STARS is designed to assist you in understanding your responsibilities as an employee, covering the legal basis of the required training of staff selling or serving alcohol under the Licensing Scotland Act 2005. The training covers the mandatory 2 hours for staff responsible for selling and serving alcohol in Scotland. Scottish Training for Alcohol Retailers and Servers Course (STARS) e-learning course meets the requirements of The Licensing (Scotland) Regulations 2007, which states that every person who is involved in the making of alcohol sales must receive ‘relevant training’. This e-learning course covers the topics and matters specified in the regulation and meets the required 2 hours’ duration time. Upon completion, the learner and an existing Personal Licence Holder must both sign the training record certificate and retain a copy. Course Overview STARS is designed to assist you in understanding your responsibilities, covering the legal basis of the required training of staff selling or serving alcohol under the Licensing Scotland Act 2005. The course also provides good practise in managing conflict situations and the standard of service. The Course Covers:- Licensing and the licencing objectives The definition of alcohol′ in the Act What constitutes an unlicensed sale The functions of licensing standards officers and their powers The nature of an operating plan and its place in the licensing system Who would attend this Course?
