A Temporary Event Notice (TEN) is a legal document that allows you to hold a licensable activity on unlicensed premises in England and Wales. This includes activities such as: Selling alcohol Providing entertainment (e.g., music, dancing, indoor sporting events) Serving hot food or drink between 11 pm and 5 am. Here are some key points about a TEN: Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to apply. Event Restrictions: Your event can have up to 499 people at any one time and can last no more than 168 hours (7 days). Number of Notices: You can apply for up to 5 TENs per year. If you hold a personal licence, you can apply for up to 50 TENs per year. Application Process: You need to submit the notice to your local council at least 10 working days before the event. There is a fee for the application.
